My new 40s doll and other happy old junk! I hit the pattern mother load!

I call her Dollie. She is a late 40s Effanbee doll with human hair wig. She is dressed in a lacy sparkly ball gown. She has real bobbies in her hair too! I met her a while ago at an antique store. I wanted her then but she was pricey I think $200. I smiled at her and posed her nicely in the chair. I never forgot about her. When I passed the store I always looked in the window for her. She sat by the window. I told myself if she was there next time I walked in then I would adopt her. Here she is!

She has sleepy eyes with real lashes. Her head is majorly cracked in two places. She was $125 .But you can't see.
Mai Tai wanted pics too. I said "Smile Girls!"
She is a my little Cerdito!
Quite rare to have her shoes and socks!
She made my fire alarm go off for 30 seconds this morning at 5am. I know it was her!
Not sure how old this is. I have my Mema's collection of vintage saints paintings. I saw this and instinctively wanted it for Mema. So I bought it for us both. It has a German name on the back in pencil.
Patterns 40 bust and up!Loads of collar variations!

There were at least 3 boxes of patterns, some $4, some $5 and some $10 and up. I snagged plus sizes.

I have never seen a double collar like the one on the left.
Purses! The white one is calf skin. The blingy one is italian.

I also have an addition to adopting pictures of people I don't know. This couple I love! Look at THAT STYLE! The print is from Philadelphia. Cant tell if it is a wedding. Def 40s. THE SHOES! MEEEOW! I saw this about to fall off the top of a door frame! RESCUE! I also picked out loads of small shots two for a buck. They are in my shadow box. My husband thinks I am nuts. But I love old photos.

I don't get to go junk shopping too much. But every time it's FUN! And my man loves it too. He picked up car parts!

STAY GLAM!

Nice! Dollie doesn't look that old, really in great condition. I'd put Dollie up so that Mai Tai doesn't get any ideas, though. Yea know, whenever I see one of those old photos the people look like I'm related to them...

I love it all! I adore old pictures. I actually found two portraits of two different kids circa 1950s-60s and they were so cute! My husband said no to them. I wanted to name them Buffy and Bill. :P

What a lovely doll...and I don't know if you know this, but she is an Effanbee Sweet Sue! (Which is very fitting for you!) That was her actual name. If you look around, the big pattern companies made patterns just for her back in the 50s. Just check the size because Sweet Sue came in different sizes. They made her for a long time and she was very popular. I LOVE her dress and shoesies! Great score!

Fabulous Haul!! I am pretty sure it was Dollie that set off the fire alarm too. She has such a FABULOUS frock!! Most excellent haul of patterns - I can't wait to see what you do with them. Also - it makes me happy you collect photos of people you don't know, I always feel sad when I see old photos like this one in op shops. Its nice to know this one now has a good home.

Well hello Dollie and welcome to the fold! I love your shoes and your hair-do is immaculate:)). What an amazing haul Sue, I love the white bag and I'm a sucker for vintage saints too. I bought one recently which has Jesus, then if you move it, he turns into Mary - so kitsch! Well done on the patterns - major score - I can never find ones I like in my size. xo

Hello, Dollie, Hello, Dollie. It's so nice to have you back where you belong!!!!

Seriously though, Dollie is gorgeous. That is an amazing antique haul there! I love it! Like everything! But I really adore Dollie and your saint painting. I love old religious stuff even though I am not religious myself.

Lovely dollie and doggie. You did well with the patterns. I have the itch to sew something, but my local JoAnn's got drowned by Irene.

And I love old photos. I have a bunch that belonged to my dad back when he was married to his first wife. 1920's-40's. I don't know who a lot of the people are, but I love looking at them.
