New Fabric Purchase!

I must admit- not much about New Jersey impresses me- sorry if you are from New Jersey- I don't mean it personally, I am not impressed easily. I will say that Ocean City is quite nice every once and a while. I played a gig up there once...but I digress....

What I DO like about Jersey is J and O Fabrics! I buy from them all the time. I won a couple gift cards on their facebook page- one was 4th place in a retro design sewing contest (for my Monster Dress)

Anyhoo, here is what I am excited about!
I bought 9 yards yesterday- Yes I know that it is alot of effing money. But it's my Birthday! LOL
I cannot wait to make something from it! I want to do a purse or a shirt for my husband in addition to a dress.

I like that it is tea dyed. Makes it look old. And I ain't no white wearing kinda girl! I'm just too dirty to wear white!

I already have 2 new vestidos to show my sexi friends...stay tuned!

Hey, I'm from Jersey! You have to do the whole state ton see it's wonder. It's a small state but it has such distinct differences. Northern Jersey gives you the NYC flavor, south Jersey gives you shore and AC, plus you are so close to Philly. Then there is the farmland. That gives you straight country. If you didn't know you were in NJ, you'd think you were in the deep south. And amazingly you can see all the changes within a few hours! And the most amazing thing about NJ...... No tax on clothes under 2 grand!

I miss my home state at times......

Peace!

I love J and O fabrics, their international shipping is very reasonable. I've almost used up my stash of this fabric in tea dye, I just have a big length of the pink left! I also have this fabric in the upholstery weight in black, it's much thicker and the print is larger, I can't decide whether to save it for upholstery or make an amazing structured dress with it.

Can't wait to see what you do with the fabric! Congratulations on winning the giftcards :) xx

I'm a Jersey expatriot living in SC- THAT would make you appreciate it! I love this fabric- the cream is much cooler than the black background- it seems to pop more. Nice choice!

I had to laugh, you said "make a purse or shirt for my husband" and I had to re-read it. I assume the purse is for you. ha-ha It would be cool though to make both, your purse match his shirt? Anyhow, awesome blog, I love your the spirit and spunk you put into sewing. I think you fall in love with fabric much like I do. and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
